Released in 2013, Liminal Rites was Asher’s first full-length solo piano album. Recorded on his recently acquired Nord Piano, the album is comprised entirely of improvised pieces captured in a single take. Arranged to describe the various stages of ‘transition’, the music itself is emotional, cathartic, and powerful, moments of tender fragility juxtaposed against waves of pure emotive flood. The cover features improvised artwork by renowned painter and art instructor/writer Flora Bowley, printed high-quality on a fold-out 6-panel Digipak. 300 were initially printed but only a handful remain, available only here at Full Arrow Records.
